Synopsis

A modern sequel to the 2005 ancient comedy drama War of In-Laws. Liza Wang will reprise her role as the sassy mother-in-law head of a fashion design company. Myolie Wu is a tomboyish police officer who become romantically involved with Liza's son portrayed by Bosco Wong, who is a rich pretty boy in disguise.

Storyline

Magazine editor-in-chief KWO PIK (Wang Ming Chun, Liza) will never save face for her superiors, nor will she come to the defense of her subordinates. She shows no mercy to her enemies and does everything she can to keep her son KWO TAK (Wong Chung Chak, Bosco) under her thumb.

She is an iron lady who can't afford to lose anything. As she is still full of confidence that she can determine her son's future life, a plain, geeky-looking girl named CHOW LAI-MAN (Wu Hang Yee, Myolie) has already managed to become the wife of TAK.

Later MAN resigns from the police force and chooses to work as a magazine journalist, thus leading to even more conflicts between her and PIK.

Not long after, PIK is dragged into a scandal and gets framed by her assistant KO PO-PO (Tang Lai Ming, Joyce), which causes her to lose her place all of a sudden. Facing a dramatic career slump and her deteriorating relationship with her son and daughter-in-law, PIK moves to the outlying islands on her own.

There she meets a new man in her life, the knowledgeable and talented BUT PING-FAN (Hui Shiu Hung) who was once a convict. From FAN, PIK has learnt how to reflect on herself and let go of the past.

As everything seems to be going fine, MAN discovers that there is a conspiracy going on and that the magazine she is working for is in danger of falling apart.

WOIL II: 9 Days left!!

I can't wait for WOIL2, although as much as I don't want to say this, (I am a huge fan of boscolie after all) the long previews from Astro on demand of WOIL2 disappointed me a bit... The bickering between Myolie/Liza doesn't have the same spark as it did in ancient. Although fortunately the boscolie scenes are great so far... funny yet sweet the way we like it :)

I loved it when Myolie blew him that kiss and Bosco's expression and how his phone just slid off the grip of his hands...
And the proposal scene where Bosco says something in the lines of "If you are a cop for the rest of your life, then I'll be your __ (couldn't catch what he said) and if you work in a restaurant (cha chaan tang) the rest of your life, I'll be your ham and egg sandwhich"
